Sustaining our World- Natural Resources 2
Lesson Intention
Students will explore how humans use natural resources and raw materials in the present day.
Success Criteria
You will know you have been successful when you can:
- Identify where each natural resource comes from.
- State whether the resource is renewable or non-renewable.
- Explain how each natural resource is used by humans.

Instructions:
- Watch the video
2. Answer these questions in the blog comments.
- What are some of the natural resources discussed in the video?
- How do humans use these resources?
- How does natural resource access influence where humans build communities?
3. Students should work together to brainstorm the positive, negative and interesting points about having natural resources and raw materials so readily available to us in the 21st century. Everyone needs to submit their work.
PMI – Classdojo Portfolios
1. Oil, wind ,sun, water
2. make electricity and drink
3. where natural resources are Community will be made
In the video there was lots of different resources some of them are water, Shelter, food and electricity. People use these for many different things baking is one of them when you are baking you need something to mix and an oven I needs electricity for the oven to work and water 💧 everyone has to drink water if they don’t they will get sick 🤒. People should buy things locally and support their community, the food would be fresher and they would be in a plastic it would be hand made.
positive
too much resources is good because we can live for a long time.
swimming wouldn’t be invented if we didn’t have water.
building materials are readily available so we can build comfortable homes. negative
people are really wasteful of our resources because they think they can get more
native animals habitats are being destroyed
Wood, fresh water , food
We use wood to build house
We use fresh water To make food that comes from Trees we also use fresh water to drink from
Walter is for drinking wood is from build to house and food is for hungry so poeple don’t have to go every where just to get food
Natural resources are things that we need to live
Q1 if you get water that water might need to be strand and then you can use it
Water food and wood we use the water to drink and cook we use the food to eat and the wood for Shelter and to keep us warm by making a fire.
wood water frot trees food
What are some of the natural resources discussed in the video?
Some natural resources they mentioned in this video we would water and food.
How do humans use these resources?
humans use these resources in many different ways but in this video they used it to make a cake.
How does natural resource access influence where humans build communities?
Humans usually live where there is good food water and Lots of resources.
What are some of the natural resources discussed in the video?
Water, suga, flower, and eggs.
We do tend to use:
Fresh Water
Food

Most of these resource examples are living grown on farms. Farm’s are quite far away in the country than the city.
#WhatAreSomeNaturalResourcesDiscussedInThevidio
Water, sunlight and wind.
#HowDoHumansUseTheseResources
Humans transform those resources into other things or to power something we then could use it for lights or eat it and many other things.
#HowDidTheseResourcesInfluenceWhereHumansBuildTheirHomes/Communities
The reason that you don’t find large communities or cities in deserts or at the top of the snowy mountain is because if possible humans build their communities well they don’t have to travel along distance to get the resources that they need to survive .
1) water
Oil
Earth
Food
Energy
Wood
Natural gases
Sun
Wind
