A rhetorical question is a question that you ask without expecting an answer. The question might be one that does not have an answer. It might also be one that has an obvious answer but you have asked the question to make a point, to persuade or for literary effect.

What is different?

How is writing a persuasive text in the middle school (yr 3/4) different to the senior school (Yr 5/6)? Why?

Write your response in the comments.

  1. Hi, anyone with some spare time I have a new post on my blog and I’m SUPER excited about it so if you want to/are going to check it out, type this emoji:🐶

  2. It is different because you hav to use more persuasive words that draws the reader in and believes your statement of opinion. You will also have to work harder and plan the structure of the text and how it is set out.

  3. It is different because writing a persuasive passage in grade three all you needed was write 3 arguments and include language features such as: rhetorical questions, statements, commands, commas, full stops and explanation marks. And at leats 15 misspelt words.
But in grade five you need to have all of the things you needed in grade three plus forceful words, more then three points, bigger and more complex words, percentages and words that draw the readers attention.

  4. 1) How is writing a persuasive text in the middle school (yr 3/4) different to the senior school (Yr 5/6)? Why?
It is different because there are higher expectations and you know more persuasive devices and persuasive language. You are expected to know more and do more.

  5. Because we use more persuasive words where as year three and four use words such as ‘firstly,I think and not much rhetorical questions’.

  6. It is different because I have learned things about persuasive wrighting over all of the years and I have got better.

  7. In grade 3 and 4 writing is so different to grade 5 and 6 writing because we don’t use first second third and we have longer paragraphs then grade 3 and 4.
