Learning Intention:

This week we are going to learn about the long a’ sound, I before e, except after c,  Particular homophones, prefixes and noun plurals adding ies’.

Success Criteria – You will know you have been successful when:

# You can identify 5 words that have a long a’ sound

# You can identify which words follow the rule for ‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’.

# You can give 4 examples of homophones

# You are able to identify words which require you to change the ending to ‘ies’.

  1. With babies you can’t add an ‘s’, with babies you can’t add an ‘s’. When it’s babies you tell it hears how you spell it, change ‘y’ to an ‘I’ and ‘es’.
