  7. Dear Ms Johnson

In class we watched the Siberian Tiger Video and here are some PMI’s I found about the video
    P-
Some people care about the tigers and want to help keep their species from becoming extinct
Australians care about it so much that they filmed it so everyone could know
    M-
People are chopping down the tree’s and the Siberean Tiger’s natural habitat
Tigers are dieing because there isn’t enough habitat
To keep tigers alive they need to be kept in a zoo
    I-
Siberean Tigers are accustomed to temperatures of -30 degrees
To recover the Siberean Tigers natural habitat it would take half a century or even several centuries

Here are some PMI’s about if the tigers are saved

    P-
The Siberean Tigers won’t go extinct
People won’t have to go into -30 degrees to harvest wood
    M-
People won’t get as much raw material
People will have to find different places to get wood, which could start endangering another species
    I-
    Humans could save a species

I hope these were good PMI’s

I-It is -30 degrees in their habitats
-This is happening in China, Russia and North Korea.

  10. I have watched the Siberian Tigers in the Wild video and I found it very interesting. I liked how they had people who live in the countries of the Siberian Tiger (China, Russia and South Korea) talk about the Siberian Tiger’s Captivity.

    Now for some PMI.
Plus/Positive: The Tigers are thriving in captivity (confinement or imprisonment), it is possible for the Tigers to become extinct, but it is very unlikely, it will take them several centuries to recover from this but if they do they will not become extinct.
    Minus/Negative: They are in Captivity,
Interesting: Some new words were used such as captivity and I learnt what it meant,

  24. Hi Ms Johnson I’m Continuing on with my questions.

  25. 2. The point of an information report is to tell people information on things like the siberian tiger report above.
    3. The positive aspects are: Tell you information, people learn things.
    4. The negative aspects are: People will only believe one side of the story.
    5. Interesting facts: How people get the information, and how they write the information, or speak it.

  26. Dear Ms Johnson
I have already completed task 1, so here are tasks 2,3,4 and 5.
2 To inform people about the specific topic. Sometimes to change the reader/watcher(‘s) behaviour, however thats more a persuasive speech.
3 It can also be persuasive, telling people to change their behaviour
4 It may be too long and people might get bored and not pay attention
5 They are completly made up of facts that someone has gathered, and can have a secret message. For example, a reporter may be writing an informative speech about animal extinction. In this report they may say that people’s hunger for their skin is growing, and that in not too long, the species will be extinct if people don’t change their behaviour. This is a secret message so that people will change their behaviour.

I hope these are sufficent answers.

    -Tazzin

  27. Dear ms johnson here is the PMI for the siberian tigers
P- The tigers are now in captivity and taught to survive and get their food on their own.
M- the tigers habbitat’s are being chopped down.
I- the tigers can survive in temperature’s below 30 degree’s.

  28. The Siberian Tigers- PMI
    The P- thriving in captivity
The M- the natural habitat is seriously damaged or destroyed
The I- they are found in china, Russia and North Korea

  29. Hi Ms Johnson. I didn’t finish my response at school so here is the rest. I have also added on some information to my other comments.

    3. Information reports also help when writing a different a genre. When writing a persuasive essay you need facts and figures incorporated. That is, if you have time to research. Information reports help you know more about the particular topic. If you have to write an informative essay, followed by a persuasive, on the same topic then writing down the information will help you remember information more thoroughly. This will help when inserting information into your persuasive essay.

    4. There are not as many negative aspects as positives, but there are still some. When researching topics, sometimes you want to find out certain information. However, not all information reports carry the information you need. This is quite frustrating, but unfortunately that happens. Also there are often slight variations in the information. Do you trust this book, or that site? It can be confusing. For example, if you wanted to find out about tigers, do you believe that the first tiger was discovered by a Dutch explorer, or a German explorer? How can you tell?

    5. Information reports are very interesting. It is interesting how there is information on nearly every subject. An interesting thing I’ve found is that even though there are informative reports on the same subject, they can be somewhat biased. Some reports would include all the information available, whilst others just include the negative or positive aspects. Here are some small examples:

Siberian tigers live in China, Russia and North Korea. They are a part of the cat family, and are therefore related to other cat species’. It can get to -30 degrees Celsius.

Siberian tigers are under serious threat, mainly from humans. They live in China, Russia and North Korea. However the alarming fact is, most tigers are being relocated to captivity and Siberian tiger zoos. Siberian tigers live in climates that can go to -30 degrees Celsius, which is a problem. There are not enough countries that have the space or climate suited to these tigers. If we did manage to relocate them it would be hard to find a habitat for them. With them bordering on extinction, it will mean a decrease in the cat family, which they are a part of.

I also thought that the facts that some information reports reveal are very fascinating. Information reports are interesting, infatuating and they indulge and inhibit my indestructible interest for information.

  30. Siberian tigers are quickly diapering!????? Disappearing? More care needed with your proof checking please.
